The interesting thing about the new 3d seismic is that it does not cover the Hawkeye prospect, but does cover an area that should have already been covered by the seismic done in December.
1/ Was the Hawkeye prospect already defined well enough that BHP were convinced enough for a farm in aggreement?
2/ Are the areas up from Hawkeye (B1, A4, A3 and A2)the areas that may be the most attractive drilling prospects with B1 prospect 5420mmstb & 2455bscf, A3 9181mmstb &4173bscf and A2 15744 mmstb & 7142bscf, these are the high estimates (see report from Otto web site Phillipines Operations overview).
3/ It is possible that the 3d might show that these prospects may be faulted and possibly connected, and with the addition of the 3d, show a very large prospective field indeed! There is already 3 wells in this general area.
It would seem that this may be one of the reasons BHP stipulated the confidentiallity regarding the seismic- time will tell but to me it looks very, very good.
