Yes they only make up 1% of new car sales market in Australia, but looking at that figure from one point of view is very naive.
Australians actually love electric vehicles. Why?
- Well whenever there is available stock of the Ioniq 5, they sell out in < 20 mins.
- Over 12 months (24 months?) wait for a new Tesla
- Used electric vehicles are selling for more than new ones.
They above examples relate to demand. Which I believe is a more accurate indicator of a countries 'appetite' for electric vehicles.
