I will even go so far as to say humanity has wrecked/degrade certain parts of this globe and certainly has the potential to wreck it even further.
Claims of MMCo2 being a clear and present danger to humanity is however not the reason behind any catastrophe that has occurred. If anything, the slight rises in Co2 recently have only benefited vegetation growth and that is certainly a plus for humanity.
