Re, Mr Gordon, If events are predictable, the world is deterministic. Causality is deterministic. Some interpretations of QM are deterministic. Probabilistic determinism, etc. Random events no more support the idea of free will than does determinism. Compatibilists define free will in a way that gives an impression of free will, yet fails to make a case, compatibilists of course insist they do.
