The obvious conclusion

If despotic/dictator style Western leaders like Morrison and Trump are not jailed (or financially punished) for their alleged crimes against democracy, then future aspirants with similar notions of dictatorship will conclude that they can get away with anything. As the law stands, judges are often heard to say that examples must be set when judgements are handed down - and yet we often see bad politicians and bad police escape the law, which sets a bad example to the rest of society - when those at the top escape the law, then there is no law.
