    >i think you are making a simplistic meaning of that study as it is reported
No more simplistic than your analysis of "the men that want to keep women in the bedroom or kitchen"

If I'm being honest, this is a complicated topic and I'm being a bit flippant as I already kind of see what your perspective is and I don't really think I will win you over.

Women want higher social status for themselves
But they still want their partners to have more social status than themselves.

And, I mean, there is a ton of literature on this, but there's not much point if you fundamentally disagree with the premise.

(not just actual studies, there are plenty, but mainstream thought/ opinion

Note : an uneducated man is not "marriageable". So, womens social status and engagement in general has changed, their expectations have not changed in relationships to match this change)

This is the archaic belief that needs to change. Why do women need a partner "above or within"?

    >maybe what seems to be a desire to have economic security in childbearing years is relevant. maybe maybe
They have jobs.. money, education, etc so.. they have their own security? Why do they need a man to give them additional security?

Such a backwards last century belief! Come on ladies!
