All Large companies have a board that they report to. This ensure the strategic direction of the company will be evaluated by independent bodies to mitigate corruption.
The board, most time unseen by employees ensure the company is heading in the right direction.
Having someone like Dean who has managed to take a company from 0.2c to 10.5c as of today, will be a strong voice to help direct the company in the right direction. Dean will not be taking any action in the company, but his experience and expertise will be greatly beneficial.
Example, take the TV show shark Tank, investor is CAD and the Shark is Dean.
