Fitch Solutions is bullish on lithium: “We expect broad lithium prices to remain extremely elevated for 2022 and 2023 as accelerating demand for Li-ion batteries and a tight upstream supply keep market supply tight.“We forecast Chinese lithium carbonate 99.5 per cent to average $US68,000/tonne in 2022 and $US55,000/tonne in 2023 (compared to $US18,938/tonne in 2021), and for Chinese lithium hydroxide monohydrate 56.5 per cent to average $US67,000/tonne in 2022 and $US56,000/tonne in 2023 (compared to $US16,506/tonne in 2021).”
