Some real ignorant posts here referring to this announcement as "low grade" .. What nonsense! Anything around 1% copper in bulk tonnage sedimentary deposits is considered high grade. There are also significant very high-grade hits at Storm above 3% at near surface.
This drill discovery however, is a game changer for AW1, because it validates their geological modelling. They had discerned 6 large EM plates below the previously announced near-surface hits. They have hit paydirt with drilling into the first plate. They now have a high level of confidence that the other 5 plates will no doubt be similar. Very tellingly this drill hole was terminated early with technical issues with mineralization still open at depth, so this first drill hole has much more to give.
So it looks pretty much assured that the entire area has a copper endowment. They will now confirm mineralization throughout the other targets, and look to shore up a large-tonnage sedimentary chalcopyrite copper deposit.
You can see why Dave O'Neil is very excited!
