Well as it stands the current shareholders are "along for the ride" more than dictating decisions, just due to the share distribution. I think either you or @GT55 pointed that out as one of the reasons they didn't like MKR. One positive out of this move is it does make it harder for Karp alone to decide things.
I can certainly see what you say with regards to the iron sands being a welcome distraction from poor silver prices and potential low profits or even a loss in the next quarter.
It is going to be interesting to watch the market action after the deal is done.
