I am off the grid and have been since 1996 so keep reading but I need to relieve you of a misconception or two.
They are:
Your concerns about panel efficiency and cleaning are extreme.
And thinking that panels become inefficient above 25 Celsius, They do reduce output but the loss is miniscule in the scheme of design. The End's need decides what size array and that is allocated in the design.
Funny fact: they also dont account for what solar energy is sourced from the moon when in full display.
