    Your grasp on reality is non existent. Cheap loans, if anything, would put downward pressure on rents as they encourage investment in new housing stock. What's driving rent increases is dumb, left wing govts like Andrews here in Victoria doing everything he can to discourage new investment in housing. Just look at all the different new taxes and new costs he's pushed onto landlords in the last few years, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has gotten out of residential property investments and who in their right mind would be investing in new housing for rentals when the govt is making that less and less appealing every year and has a clear cut agenda against property investment?
