lists like this always cause controversy but from what I read the criteria went well beyond weather and the view. Crime, social justice etc. would take out many cities including all the American ones and would boost the Canadian/Aussie totals.
Not sure where the population cutoff is but that might have nipped Hobart out (Calgary at 1.1 MM is the smallest of the top 10).
It would be interesting to see the breakdown by catagory.
Personally the only top ten one I was surprised at was Calgary which has fallen on very hard times in the last few years and unless you include Banff as a suburb, never had that much going for it after the '88 Olympics.
