The MOAR PEOPLE! argument has always and will always be a ponzi.
More people imported = more demand for goods, services and infrastructure = more people need to be imported to build new infrastructure and provide services for the additional people who were imported to provide the same to the pre-existing people. It is never ending. All of this boosts GDP, but not GDP per capita and definitely not quality of life.
