Nobody can change the reality, and the reality is that people are dying every day defending their country. Putin will not leave, and Ukrainians may never force him to leave. What to do now is the question? More it takes to answer that question, more people will die and more destruction will happen. Asking for Putin to leave is morally the only right thing to do, but morality and reality are sometimes poles apart.

Ukraine is not going to surrender, so if you're the cold hard realist you claim to be, that will have to be your starting point.
