this case isn't about emotions or about doing the right thing, the socialists/leftists/Marxists never do, their hate and disdain for law and order, their inability to reason, their ClimoChangeShytzophrenia and EnviroHysteria and their lust for power to keep the masses under their thumb through destructive social programs ( essentially bread crumbs) prevent them from being honest, so it's rather about the bait and switch they manufactured under the alleged blanket of Democracy and the fraud they committed due not to safety of the mine but due to narcissistic reasons and the loathing of progress!
