I think you are correct. VE have dumped their holding as ASM is no longer in the index they are tracking. Hopefully those who have borrowed the shares from the other well known index fund are taking this opportunity to cover and bring an end to this crap.
I doubt the ASX will query the drop in SP as that could open up the whole debate on the ethics of short selling/HF trading , etc and we wouldn't want that would we !!!!!
Bloody disappointing that retail investors are treated so poorly. I can feel another letter to ASIC coming on. Third time lucky.
