The problem here is that ASM is in the All Ords NOT the ASX 300. The All Ords is basically the top 500 but it is only rebalanced in March each year.. SO you borrow from an index fund that tracks the All Ords and short down a stock in (say) an index fund that may rebalance more regularly and will have to sell if the MC of the stock is significantly reduced. All planned. They know what they are doing. The manipulation is obvious. What the Hell does ASIC do all day???
