    I also remember only having to be home by dark. Other than that we could do as we pleased. If what we pleased was to get up to mischief then we could expect a firm kick up the bum for our troubles (maybe the lack of this is a contributor to todays problems).

    I lived in the country rather than Sydney or Melbourne, and walked miles to school from the age of 5 or 6 aswell. Ah, those were the days.

    And knives, never saw one. Sorry to reiterate your post volt, but to put it in perspective I am 30 years old. Seems the 80's were nearly as carefree as the 50's. What has gone wrong since then?
