    two different things, snuf:
    Religion and traditional morals.
Religion has to do with what one believes God likes and dislikes. Traditional moral values come out of the society as a whole. In fact, religion has done its very utmost to divide society so that there are no universally acceptable moral values. Aglicanism is probably the closest to Catholicism but if you go to Spain and watch the parades during Easter and other times you'll get shivers up your back bone and say, thank God I don't believe in such a god. Same with Portugal, Indonesia, many places in South America and elsewhere around the world. I get shivers up my back bone when I hear the Pentecostals and the Charismatics go for it!

Any extreme religion, any fundamentalist any bible or koran or Talmud basher worries the cr@p outa me!

Same with fundamentalist believers in "core values." Let me discuss with you each individual "value" and let's see if we, as neighbours and co-citizens of this one planet we cannot get our heads together to make sure we accept each other's freedom, each other's responsibility, each other's understanding.

Putting such big issues together in one huge bundle makes them inenexaminable, inconceivable and a force that paralyses society, if not divides it, just like religion has done so far.
