GR Thodey valued the infrastructure at $20b. The infrastructure does not include nbn cables. The $1b nbn access lease figure confirmed a reasonable market value by Thodey. It absolutely has value but that value will be detirmined by its profitability when tls decides to sell it.But they r not selling the nbn just the pipes,ducts etc. Then we have imo growing competition as in 5g but also serious projects like ben slarees $1.5b hyperone major city fibre connection network linking elon's eventual 30,000 to 40,000 leo satellites eventually in real time.So imo its not just for remote communities. Then as posted many times tls will lose half the lease payments approx $500m plus so tls must invest the proceeds to replace that income. imo only.
