I very much doubt there has been any convo with the change team.
Paul Burton has already 'commited' to resigning in the future. He wouldnt state that if he was confident.
Think from PB's perspective..he actually feels like he is the best person to run TNG and actually feels attacked by this campaign and would rather fall on his sword than 'run' (resign). He isnt delusional.. he simply lacks perspicacity.
GW is the right person to take TNG to where it should be.
