New Hope is raking in the cash as it exports coal to an energy starved world, posting a full year net profit of $983M, a massive jump on last year.
Shareholders are being rewarded handsomely with a stellar dividend and a special divvy to boot. The company also says its considering other options to return cash to shareholders.
So are the takings enough to entice Scott Phillips from the Motley Fool? No. He likes the business, however he reckons the coal price is as good as its going to get.
Howard Coleman from TeamInvest says it's the first year in 10 New Hope has made a decent return on equity, warning you'd lucky to get one more solid year the next decade. It's a 'sell.' |
