Regal in my experience have never been for the long haul and with 6% stake would not have much influence (in fact they have fewer shares than Peter does).
I suspect that for a company pushing to become cashflow positive and profitability, paying the founders $2m per annum in cash was unsustainable given the slowing growth, so it makes sense to pay someone 1/2-1/3rd of what they are paying Peter to do the same job.
Although we see the upfront cash savings, what I suspect mgmt will have to do is to give senior managers some shares/options to incentivise them to drive business especially given how spread out the various teams and businesses are.
