Very good points. Talk about complete and utter incompetence if a part was not calibrated properly (or whatever the issue was) before being shipped. By a leading expert in the field with 100+ years experience? I'd be more concerned about the drilling now too.
You also have to pay attention to the language used in announcements -
“In relation to our first well Mukuyu-1, the rig maintenance is nearing completion and the final outstanding well services equipment will arrive in the coming days. “Following the rig acceptance once the commissioning and testing has been completed it will allow for the spud of Mukuyu-1..."
This statement doesn't say IVZ WILL spud, only that the rig is now completed and spud is allowed (from the rig perspective). It leaves open the door for other outstanding items (starting with a P) that need completing first before spud actually takes place.
