    Even potential competitors in the thermal energy storage business are ditching molten silicon for graphite.

    "TEGS was initially conceived with a molten silicon storage medium, a graphite storage medium is even lower cost (US$0.5 per kg), and the projected capital cost per unit energy (CPE) is less than US$10 per kWh"
