I'm a contrarian because I just can't see how in the medium term, the priced in demand will be realised in a deflationary environment. Interest rates have doubled and the bond market has only just began to feel the pain. This is what the last two market days have began to actualise IMO. We're destined for a period of slowed growth, which in context means financial pain for every day people where expendables will go to every day expenses like mortgages and food, both of which have gone off the scale. Food shortages are on the horizon due to the abnormal weather, energy markets are haywire because of war (if you ask the media) and underinvestment (if you ask a realist). The market was optimistic by Biden's "inflation reduction act" believing that easing was around the corner but this is clearly off with the fairies. I'm just struggling to comprehend how, when sustainable grid infrastructure is still decades away, and energy prices continue to rise, will adoption of EV's be an affordable option to anyone other than the upper class in the future that is unfolding.
