Maud that post has answered some of my concerns.The alumina IP ATC holds is for the lithium batteries only. For the salt batteries the Germans Fraunhofer own the IP on this one, ATC just happened to be in the right space at the right time and have been selected by the Germans to build the batteries. I imagine they selected them because they have a good supply line for the required alumina and are set up to produce the quantity required? If the German govt have been to saxony for a look and push the go button they may get carbon funding coming there way because storage is really key to renewable wind farms to become base load supply.
