Recent rises in interest rates mean QBE is set to make something on its invested capital after enduring near-nil returns through the pandemic.
Over in the UK, new PM Truss has unveiled policies that have driven the UKP down to $US1.09, lowest in 37 years.
If QBE has M&A dreams there, now is the time to act, at least in currency terms. It may take an utterly contrary view and regard UK insurances as completely uninvestable. Its opinion won't be middling, muddling.
