I have recently been buying EVN shares and have looked more closely at that company than I previously have. Three of Evolution’s five Mining Centres produce under 200k ounces of gold per annum at a highish AISC. Although I am a little baffled that there has been no corporate interest (publicly at least) in taking over Youanmi to date and we shareholders are now almost dismissing a takeover bid, how complimentary would Youanmi be to one of the $3b+ market capitalisation companies to add profitable production ounces?
The next couple of announcements could be very interesting and potentially be a catalyst for corporate activity at RXL and VMC. In the very near future we certainly will have some clarity on how profitable the Youanmi ounces are.
