Hey folks, have seen a few comments about the buy-back (BB) that I think is worth clearing up.
On-market BBs have strong regulations due to insider trading & market manipulation laws. As such, they are highly structured & automated using specific computer algos designed to target ~10% of daily liquidity at VWAP. This is to prevent companies manipulating SPs around time-sensitive events to achieve director performance bonuses etc.
Unfortunately, there is no BB boy sitting at his intern desk eating a burger & manually entering in orders to make use of the SP weakness!
However, the fact it's a high volume red day is definitely a positive for the BB. Cheers.
