Been reading through the Swiss preso they released today, and noticed a comment about moving 'zones 2 and 3' to JORC classification.

This interested me (not sure how I missed it before) because it implied that Zones 2 and 3 perhaps already have potential resources delineated.

So I went back to Aurum website...couldn't find much until I decided to have another look at the Wardell Armstrong feasibility, in which the following para was contained:

"North Kyrgyzstan Geological Expedition (NKGE) calculated a global resource for the deposit (all three mineralised zones) of some 26.3Mt @ 1.22g/t Au and 0.37% Cu using a 0.5g/t Au cut-off. Their work showed that approximately two thirds of the resource was contained within Zone 1."

If Soviet estimations are accurate, this means that Zone 2 and Zone 3 combined could have around 8M-9M more tonnes (ie 1/3 of the 26.3 quoted). Is it accurate???...well if we look at KGL's quoted JORC Reserve for Zone 1 we see around 16M tonnes, which is pretty close to two thirds of the 26M. So seems there's a good chance that the Soviets are close to the mark. (I note the preso has JORC resources quoted as 20M tonnes - difference between reserve and resource i'm guessing).

So basically, Zone 2 and 3 could extend mine life by around 50%!!!

Unfortuantely, KGL are not allowed to even mention these figures in their announcements...they must upgrade to JORC before they can do so. I expect unlike Zone 1 however this will take a little more time since probably requires drilling etc.
