I don't think you necessarily have made a bad decision, but an investment at this stage has certain assumptions attached.. primarily being that any "merged" entity has a lot of work to do to regain credibility in the market's eyes.
The history of poor due diligence first with Gold Ridge in the Solomons and now Atlantic Gold in Canada has dogged the company for many years, and I can't help but feel SBM are bringing a lot more to the table than Genesis is - is history about to repeat?
On the other hand, hard to argue on an asset basis that there is a lot of potential value to be unlocked, and agree its starting to look a bit overdone on the sell side.
