What I'm saying Gekko is that anyone can say they will be carbon neutral at some point.

Taking the quote from that article.

"Maricunga has been developed with a strong ESG profile aiming for carbon neutrality once the operation beds down."

Here's what term beds down means in business.

"If a new process or organization beds down, it starts to operate well because it has existed for long enough".

So like I alluded to earlier it wont be when LPI starts production. So when is the actual year LPI will be carbon neutral? 2040?

LPI also states using solar renewable energy.

The technical report on the other hand says 1500m3 or 15m litres of diesel for the salt removal plant. Plus more diesel for the mining fleet.

the rest of the power is from hooking up to the National grid.

there is no contracts in place for any solar energy whatsoever and it is not included in the technical report of the project.

At the end of the day financiers will be looking at a project run circa 70% on fossil fuels and the rest national electricity.
