'twas meant to be a joke against myself. i do love sending myself up.

No mate, I did not have time for that. (fossicking etc,) I had to work at my career full time. i had a wife and children to support. Except for a stolen weekend in a village somewhere. The only time I wasn't working, was when I was at the gym, or sleeping. I guess that qualifies for people with no bank accounts. It would be amazing to have no possessions, other than one can carry in both hands.

BTW. I have read, The History of Money. I found it engrossing. Money can exist without a "Gold Standard" or so on. It can have an "Agreed value", such as the Islander's Stone Money. Which was still in use in the 60s. Sa'amoa I think. I concede that if you are mining alluvial gold or whatever, you would be trading in gold in that community. But! That is very much a minoraty and would hardly be considered the "norm", and far from being a large amount of the population. I was of course, referring to trading in Bullion, (bars or ingots) or gold or silver coins. Such a American Gold Eagles.

    Regards....marum.
