OK. So if we take a 2 years snapshot of the shorts, that event was on July 21, 2021 and we saw shorts increase for that hedge and then drop shortly after...
However, when we look at WHC over the same period and after the NHC convertible notes hedge, we still have different short position characteristics...
The convertible note of $200M @ $2.10 is around 95M shares compared to SOI of 832M, so a solid 11.4% of SOI. That may cause ongoing hedging and re-hedging the SP has moved up to manage and maximise profit. So maybe the cause of the ongoing short positions until 2026 maturity date. Yes, good point. Makes more sense than my original theories.
