I wonder what the disappearance of pandemic leave payments mean in the real world.
So okay, the govt hasn't got a bottomless pocket but what happens to people who get covid (and I acknowledge there are some who don't even think it exists, tell that to the nurses).
Are people going to be able to take sick leave even when they don't have to isolate?
Will they get paid or will they have to lie about what ails them?
With no need to isolate, always bearing in mind many people likely never did, is that going to increase cases, including maybe deaths?
Are new waves of the virus going to be ignored as if they don't exist?
On and upwards into the Brave New World, where sickness is good for you so enjoy it and long-term illness is a figment of your imagination, do not call 000.
And learn and remember this, sickness is health and long-term sickness is an opportunity to re-skill.
