but sometimes a short term loss , that you have to have , is a long term gain
Ukraine becomes united and focussed perhaps and Europe weans itself off fossil fuels
US sees it's old enemy weakened and Europe is more secure

no certainty but fair chance of these

Europe will collapse at this rate, and I'm sure the Ukrainian people are embracing their "short term" losses....how callous
