That figure I quoted are the actual short sales that occurred in yesterday's trades. The previous day the total was only 871,150 and the day before that 546,866 and on Friday 30 September short sales for the day were 336,564. Contrary to what has been suggested, short sales have been increasing in the face of an increasing share price during that time.
