For some time now the broader Quinninup community have objected vehemently to Allup’s tenement application on their doorstep – Antwalker E70/5455.
The tenement, and the early stage conceptual resource that it was based upon was located unreasonably close to, or on top of the local community, State forest, and National Park.
No community consultation from Allup, just a “we’ve got this…the board has over 200 years of experience” attitude and a belief that the project could just be bulldozed through.
Well, it appears that the Environment Minister agrees with the Quinninup communities concerns, and has released a strongly worded statement stating as such.
Unsurprisingly, the Antwalker tenement has since been surrendered.
In light of this decision, Allup may want look at their remaining South West and Southern Forest projects (Pipeclay Tree, and Sparkler) through a different lens, and reconsider the ESG ranking and project development risk in these sensitive areas.
