In any case, the Constitution stipulate the Rada must first refer the matter to be investigated by the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by a minimum 226 votes. Then 338 votes was required to remove the President at the impeachment trial. Only 328 voted for it. As to what should have done, they should have protected their duly elected President, by voting in support of him, by voting in support the rule of law (the Constitution), call for calm, and instructing the Arm Forces to protect their President and all legal institutions of Ukraine. You should note, Yanukoyvch had a few days earlier made a deal with opposition parties to call for early election, to let the people decide. That would have been the proper method to resolve the conflict then!!! But the opposition parties reneged on this deal - and instead grabbed power. And this is why we have what we have today. The genesis of this conflict started there!!! Now, the people in the Donbass, Crimea and Kherson argued (justifiably) they have a right to break the Constitution to seek their own destiny.

Spot on. For some reason the Ukraine/Zelinsky acolytes contine to ignore history and would have us believe that this conflict started in a vaccuum out of nowhere.
