    TimWell,

The biggest driving factor is the cost factor.

A lease for a block of land that the size of Arno Bay hatchery anywhere in Japan would cost at the very minimum triple of what it costs in SA.

Secondly, "Go-Shu"(Japanese name for Aust.) has always had a reputation of being clean in the eye of your average Japanese people. Perfect setting for a place where seafood ought to be farmed.

Australian Agricultural products, regardless of what it is, has always enjoyed high level of popularity in Japan. If you have experienced the pickiness of Japanese consumers, you'd know for sure that locally made items are without exception the best, then US/Aust/European products. The average Japanese citizen does not buy Chinese made food unless there is no other option.

Australia is lucky, it has both the cost advantage as well as a very good reputation in Japan. But if one day there is going to be a local tuna farm in Japan, price of its product will unquestionably exceed that of Cleanseas.
