Isn't a share buy back preferred as at least most investors here will be able to apply the 50% CGT discount to the share buy back?
A special dividend will be taxed on a revenue account (so 100%) - also don't forget as of yet Shine has yet to apply any franking credits to their dividends so it will all be taxed.
