The current well at Capitaine and the next well at Merou are both very large targets and consequently both very important to the JV.
Capitaine is one of a cluster of large targets 20K west of Chinguetti and if successfull will not only add to potential reserves but will also enhance the prospectivity of the other surrounding targets in the "Chinguetti" sand channel.
The JV are adopting a very similiar plan to the north with the drilling of Merou, it is 10k to 20k west of the Tiof west well and is also a very large target and is also one of a cluster of targets in the deep water in the "Tiof " sand channel.
It is very interesting to note the method of the JV by methodically proving up seperate areas one well at a time, for example if Capitaine is a duster {hope not} it will definetely not be an indicator that Merou could be a duster as they are in completely different sand channels and on trend with completely different oil discoveries.
The JV planning is excellent in my book, lets hope that success follows, we should know the Capitaine results very soon however the Tiof appraisel and flow test will still be some weeks away.
