They oppies were given to sophs. Many of them (not all) are not particularly interested in IVZ except to sell their placement stock at a profit. It wouldn't surprise me if they sold their oppies. Oppies given to shareholders would be more tightly held as shareholders would view them as a cheap entry to a chance of success on a stock they have some degree of confidence in. Many sophs just see them as profit to be taken if they have the chance.

It was interesting (but not surprising) that the top 20 in the oppies were completely different to the top 20 holders of the head stock.
