The US flew nuclear armed b52's along the russian border under the SAC program for a long time. 24 hours a day, 7 days per week there were at least two fully armed bombers flying the borders, with the other planes poised and probably armed along the sides of runways in Germany.
Now that Poland is demanding to host US nukes, and Ukraine is proving a potential existential threat to them, the Russians are responding.
At some point, a red line will be crossed that will require a response -- be patient because no doubt you will be rewarded with more blood and guts than even you can tweet about.
