Or how about a negative announcement? Everyone is assuming announcements will be positive. Today's share price activity was very unusual given all other lithium stocks were well in the green and none of them reacted one bit to PLS's fall. Definitely company specific. Read the tape - the tape was screaming at me to short, so I was happy to oblige and make money doing so.
There won't be a takeover. What company is in a position to pay $20b+? That's what they're going to have to pay as a premium based on current valuation. The beauty of shorting high cap stocks is that there's reduced risk of takeover.
And yes, I have stops. I keep my shorts on a relatively tight leash.
