Its quite amazing of what people think Scientology is. Sometimes society has a very one sided view of it as being negative. It is a religion because it believes we are a spirit and we will always as humans do better as knowing the truth that we are spirits than thinking we are a lump of meat and can be fixed by electric shock frying the brain.
I feel for your sister being abducted by a sect for a couple of years but how you relate this to Scientology is not quite correct. What Scientology is trying to do is free people so they can act and think rationally for themselves, there are many positives that help society too.
Those stories in the program are genuine and to seperate people, friends and family by declaring them supressive is done with a false love. I feel for those parents and understand where they are coming from.
