There's manipulation occasionally in all markets, but goldbugs are fixated about it. Instead of taking their losses on the chin they'll blame someone else.
Futures contracts have existed for 4,000 years in one form or another, just like taking out a mortgage on your house is a form of futures contract. There's futures contracts on every commodity - would you really like to take home 40,000lbs of live cattle to Mrs euphoria if you want to hedge the meat prices?
What's a lotto ticket...a futures contract? If you win you collect, if you lose you get nothing.
