Yes you wouldn't normally call a EGM out of the "Blue" so to speak, and a proportional take over would certainly benefit from a lower SP imo ... and this is certainly occuring. Whether falling SP is a result of pure uncertainty or manipulation is debatable - probably a bit of both? Nothing like fear in the market.
